Overview of SkinCeuticals

Founded in 1997, SkinCeuticals discovers, develops, and delivers innovative dermatology products that improve the overall health and appearance of the skin. We use pure, pharmaceutical grade ingredients with proven scientific results. Our formulations are based on optimal concentrations of active ingredients elegantly crafted into functional products — designed, formulated, and tested for effectiveness. Our entire skincare program works as a complete system for maximum improvement to skin health.

Early in our history, a SkinCeuticals research team helped pioneer the advent of cosmeceuticals with the original topical vitamin C formula that protects skin from premature signs of aging caused by environmental damage. SkinCeuticals continued to lead the industry as one of the first companies to provide scientific evidence to support product benefits — publishing clinical studies in respected medical journals usually reserved for pharmaceutical research.

SkinCeuticals has adopted a multidisciplinary approach to product development. We have formed networks with top scientists from the fields of cellular and molecular biology, chemistry, biophysics, and medicine. They work to further our understanding of the processes of skin aging, photoaging, and other individual skin conditions. Through our unique relationship with these multidisciplinary networks, we are able to collaborate with the international medical community to deepen our knowledge of the skin and skin health. Our innovation has earned our research team numerous federal and state grants to help further the pursuit of technologies to improve skin health. In addition to these grants, SkinCeuticals funds clinical trials at major medical institutions such as Duke University Medical Center and the National Institute of Health.

Our mission at SkinCeuticals is to improve skin health. Dedicated to this purpose, we make one simple promise — provide quality products backed by science.

Skin Conditions

SkinCeuticals has developed a skin condition chart to provide skincare professionals with general guidelines when recommending our preventive, protective, and corrective products to patients. The definitions listed below describe conditions or skin types that respond well to SkinCeuticals products suggested within each category of the skin condition chart. The following is a list of skin conditions.

PROBLEMATIC SKIN

Includes conditions associated with infamed skin, excess oils, and congested pores.

Acne

Products recommended for this condition help reduce inflammation, redness, occasional breakouts, and oiliness as they protect skin and help prevent further damage.

Rosacea

Suggested products help alleviate redness and inflammation as they protect and help prevent further damage. This condition transcends skin types, so individual reactions to recommended products may vary.

OILY SKIN

Includes conditions associated with excess oils and congested pores. Products recommended for this condition help minimize oiliness and congestion as they protect skin and help prevent further damage.

NORMAL / COMBINATION SKIN

Includes ranges as well as combinations of oily and dry skin. All SkinCeuticals products are appropriate for use on patients with this skin type. Professional recommendations may vary depending on where patients fit within the category range.

DRY SKIN

Includes conditions associated with dehydrated, traumatized, aging, and delicate skin.

Pre- and Post-Rejuvenating Procedures

Suggested products and systems help prepare skin for non-invasive procedures i.e., microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, peels, etc., as well as maintain results afterwards.

Peri-Menapausal / Mature

Products recommended for this condition help counter moisture loss, decrease collagen breakdown, minimize fine lines, and rejuventate dull skin.

Body Regime:

All SkinCeuticals body products can be used alone, or as a regime. For optimal results, we recommend exfoliating the skin 2-3 times each week with SkinCeuticals Body Polish immediately before using SkinCeuticals Advanced Body Firming Lotion. Integrate Sans Soleil into your body regime as desired.

Step One: Exfoliate
Using hands or a washcloth, cleanse skin thoroughly with SkinCeuticals Body Polish. Avoid using loofah sponges or body brushes as they can cause uneven exfoliation.

Step Two: Treat and Firm
Massage a liberal amount of SkinCeuticals Advanced Body Firming Lotion into the entire body or desired areas. Wait 3-5 minutes before applying Sans Soleil.

Step Three: Sunless Tan (optional)
Apply a small amount of Sans Soleil to the desired area of the face or body. Using circular and vertical motions, spread Sans Soleil evenly on your skin. Repeat until all desired areas are covered. Let stand 15 minutes. After applying to hairline, lightly wipe the area with a damp washcloth or cotton ball. Use sparingly on elbows, knees, ankles and feet. Wash hands with soap and warm water immediately after application.

Step Four: Protect
Massage a liberal amount of a SkinCeuticals sunblock to entire face, neck, chest, and other desired areas daily, as well as 20 minutes before sun exposure.
